Linda Partain Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Partain, a beloved member of the community, educator, and cherished family member. Linda, born on June 13, 1948, in Pecos to Joe Lee and Von Delle McMahon, spent her formative years near Balmorhea, where her family owned a cattle feed lot business. She graduated from Balmorhea High School and pursued higher education at Sul Ross State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in education. Later, she completed her master’s degree at Tarleton State University.
Linda’s dedication to education was a guiding force throughout her career, primarily in Hico ISD, where she served as an educator and later as a counselor in Hamilton County. Her commitment to nurturing young minds left an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched, and her legacy as an educator will be remembered with gratitude. In 2011, Linda embarked on a new chapter in her life, marrying Richard McCleskey in Stephenville. She found joy in moments spent with her family, particularly relishing the activities of her grandchildren. Linda was not only an integral part of her family but also an active member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, where she dedicated her time to the Hearts and Hands Sunday School class.
